Name: Mars & Venus Chardonnay 2014
Variety: Chardonnay
Year: 2014
Country: Spain
Region: La Mancha
Price: $5.95
Wine Critic Review: "A very nice value
Chardonnay that comfortably over-delivers vs. its modest price tag. No oak
here, just bushels of clean, crisp, Chardonnay apple and stone fruit with a
hint of caramelized pineapple. Juicy and
clean, this is a mid-weight white that's just perfect for parties or weeknight
sipping." -The Vintage Cellar
My review: On the nose this Chardonnay had hints of melons. It smelled like a container of Mott's applesauce as well. The taste was a bit too crisp and too tart for me. I did not like this Chardonnay that much.

Mapreco Vinho Verde Rose 2015
Name: Mapreco Vinho Verde Rosé 2015
Variety: Vinho Verde
Year: 2015
Country: Portugal
Region: Vinho Verde
Price: $10
Wine Critic Review: "The cherry color reveals a slightly fizzy wine that is a very fruitful rosé made from the traditional vinho verde white grapes. Adding a splash of red to offer flavors with notes of strawberry, cherry and berries. A delightful twist on the original."
-The Vintage Cellar
My review: This rosé wine smelled like asparagus and an overly ripe melon. The taste had a couple more fruit elements of strawberries and melon flavors. This wine had more body than the Chardonnay tasted the same day.

Maipe Malbec 2015
Name: Maipe Malbec 2015
Variety: Malbec
Year: 2015
Country: Argentina
Region: Mendoza
Price: $12
Wine Critic Review: "The 2015 Maipe Malbec is another 100% Malbec, with a deep purple color and a style similar to the Lexicon, with chocolaty, blackcurrant and blackberry fruit, as well as touches of licorice and earth. It is delicious, soft and round."
- Robert Parker's Wine Advocate (March 2016), 87 pts - Excellent Wine Values for Under $25My review: This red wine had a deep burgundy and almost purple color. I could detect plums and cherries on the nose and the taste was a bit more like dirty cherries. I could see myself enjoying this wine with spaghetti or another pasta dish.
